Community insight from real residents

Know your area — before you call it home.

Real talk from the people who actually live there, backed by receipts. See what residents say about cost, schools, healthcare, getting around, and the day-to-day — before you move, rent, or visit.

How it works →  ·  First-hand from real residents. No marketing hype.

Listings show you the kitchen. They don't show you the commute, the rent creep, or whether you can actually see a doctor.

You're about to make a big, hard-to-undo decision in a place you don't know yet. Review sites are thin and gamed. Stat sites are scraped and stale. The people who actually know what it's like to live somewhere are the people who live there — so that's who we ask.

How it works

Three steps to honest, first-hand community insight.

1

Search any place

City, town, or zip — pull up what residents say across six dimensions of daily life.

2

Know the area

Honest, first-hand insight by category, a plain-language snapshot, and the receipts to back it up — with the number of residents who weighed in always shown.

Six dimensions of daily life

We don't reduce a place to one star rating. We look at what actually shapes living there.

💰

Money

Cost of living, rent, jobs, and how far a paycheck stretches.

🏥

Health

Getting an appointment, specialist access, and coverage.

🏫

Schools

Public school confidence, childcare, and learning programs.

🏠

Neighborhood

Getting around, green space, food access, and the everyday feel.

🤝

Community

Making friends, local trust, and support for vulnerable neighbors.

📈

Growth

Development, housing variety, and what's changing.

Why Know Your Area is different

Honest by design — built on first-hand experience, not scraped stats.

  • First-hand only. Real residents with real experience — never scraped records or AI-written reviews.
  • Receipts included. Residents back up what they say with photos and evidence.
  • The full picture. Six dimensions of daily life, not a single star rating: money, health, schools, neighborhood, community, and growth.
  • Honest about the data. We show how many residents weighed in. Thin data says "not enough yet" — never a fake verdict.
  • No hype, no steering. We describe what residents experience. We don't label places "good" or "bad" — where you belong is your call.

What you'll see

A plain-language snapshot, by category, with the receipts and the sample size.

A place near you (zip)
Based on resident responses · last 12 months

Residents rave about walkability and the schools. Cost and specialist access come up as common pain points. Newer residents say it's welcoming but takes effort to plug into.

Below the minimum sample, a place shows "Early input — be one of the first residents to share," never a score.

Frequently asked questions

How resident-sourced community insight works.

Where does the information come from?

First-hand experiences from real residents. We don't scrape public records or run AI-generated reviews — only people who actually live somewhere share what it's like.

Is it free?

Yes — searching and reading is free. Residents contribute their experiences for free too.

How do you keep it accurate?

We show the number of resident responses behind everything, and we won't summarize a place until enough residents have weighed in. A couple of responses is a quote, not a verdict.

Do you rank places as good or bad?

No. We describe what residents actually experience across six dimensions of daily life. We don't stamp a place "good" or "bad" or tell you where to go — that's your call.

Can I add my own town or neighborhood?

Yes. If you live there, share your experience — every contribution makes the picture clearer for the next person.
